photographers research (Esteban Pastorino Diaz)
So a photographer I was asked to research was Esteban Pastorino Diaz, was a mechanical engineer until he gave up to pursue his love for photography he did a series of photos called ariel kite photography, Here Esteban, perhaps inspired by his mechanical engineer training, and his adolescent fascination for building airplane models, brilliantly uses kite aerial photography to give the viewer a birds-eye vie of the world. Building his own pin-hole cameras, he attached them to kites, and controlled the home-made shutters by radio control.
Esteban used this technique to present a collection of impressive images, which make cars, boats and beaches, and people look as though they are part of a carefully planned miniature toy train set.
To me, he is representing the world in a different way, from a different perspective. His attention to detail is so precise that the images almost seem unreal. The world is wondrous and toy-like. Representation as reflection/distortion of reality.

Here is a recreation I have done of Diaz's work, I used the photo from the landscape task we did in class and as you can see I have used the barbed wire as the primary focus in the photo to distort the reality of the landscape much like Diaz did with his landscape photos.
