DIY Production of music / Artist research (John Pesina)
I have decided to continue my project using 'Olivia Rose' as my main inspiration and focusing on a unique individual and capturing his originality in my final images, the path I have chosen to go with is the 'DIY' production of music and how its allowed our generation to create their own music. This has spawned new genres of music and allowed anyone to set up shows and create music, however only certain individuals have enough flare and spark to form a fan base that will follow and attend the musicians shows.

I then came across a photographer named 'John Pesina' who did a similar project on musician 'Jonathan Terrell' within the project shown on his page it included many photos from the studio of him working with the rest of his band showing behind the scenes shots of the 'magic in action'

Although its impossible to predict when exactly the 'DIY' production of music first began its certain that its extremely popular now, it could even date back to prehistoric times that our ancestors would tap things together to make music and sounds. However I wanted to focus more on the studio as its a more modern platform of creating music. Bands such as: 'The Beatles' and 'The rolling stones' were the pioneers of studio space as they and various other musicians and engineers began to manipulate different sounds using advanced technology that would create unique sounds that had never been heard, this technology only progressed since then and has now allowed anyone to set up their own studio space and create their own sound.
This is what I want to capture and explore in my final images by using a subject who is a rapper and also has access to a studio. Fortunately, the rapper is a friend of mine and has allowed me to shoot photos of both him in the studio and also rehearsing - as I stated before the individual who creates music has to have a certain sound and a certain flare to allow them to be acknowledged by an audience, but luckily my subject has already built up a fan base and I intend to capture why that is, along with the process of him creating his own music.

and then eventually there is shots shown of him performing at the gig with the rest of the band, this is the sort of process I intend to capture on a smaller scale as I don't have access to such a renown performer. Pesina's motive is behind every photo he takes there is a story waiting to be told.

These are example from John Pesina's work and is also the style I wish the finalise my images in as it captures the essence of DIY production of music in the studio as well as showing the performer and their style as well, I would also like to capture images at a show if I get the chance to attend one of my subjects show.
